Study Groups in Hebden Bridge on the subjects of anger management, stress management, and emotional literacy.

Study Groups on Anger and Stress Management, and Emotional Literacy

Some people like to attend lectures; some like to participate in therapy groups; and some like to study in a more academic format.

CENT Study Groups are a new innovation; a way in which you can combine the best of academic study with group therapy.

Groups of 5 or 6 individuals meet once each week, in Hebden Bridge, to discuss a set book.  Each member reads one book chapter per week, and comes along willing to share what they have learned, to pose questions, and to interact with the group in whatever discussion comes up.

The groups are facilitated by Dr Jim Byrne, who is both a therapist and an educator.

Initially there will be groups on:

# Anger Management;

# Stress Management; and:

# Emotional literacy.

Each session will last for 1.5 hours, and cost £10.00 per participant per week.  Each group is likely to run for seven or eight weeks.

By the end of the program you should have a good working knowledge of the subject studied; a good range of skills related to that subject; and have had an opportunity to work through your issues related to that subject.

To express an interest, please email jim.byrne@abc-counselling.com with the following information:

1. Your name, phone number and email address;

2. Are you interested in studying anger management, stress management, or emotional literacy?

3. Are you interested in evening or daytime sessions?

4. Are you willing to participate in a mixed gender group, or do you insist on single-sex groups?

5. Are you willing to commit to attend each session until the program is complete?

6. Are you sufficiently self-assetive and emotionally stable to be able to take care of your own wellbeing within a group of this type?  (There will be groundrules regarding minimal standards of civility and respect for others which must be accepted and practiced).

I will contact you to let you know what level of interest has emerged, and the possibilities for group formation.
